International Women's Day. Who Is Your Inspirational Women.

This is Anna, my Grandmother, and I have chosen her as my Inspirational women for International Women's day 2019.    Anna, my Grandmother was born in April 1907 on the East Coast of Italy, in another time, and another place, long before I was even thought of.  I have chosen my Grandmother today  because she was a strong confident women who had a hard life with no money no decent home and sometimes no shoes on her feet as she used to tell me.  My Grandmother got married at 18 in Pink and had four daughter's the youngest of whom was my own Mother.  My Grandfather was a farmer/soldier and when the second world war broke out my Grandfather was in the war, my Nan as I always called her, was on her own in war torn Italy with four daughter ages ranging from 13 downwards to 6 years old,  if we think of poverty in our towns and cities today according to my Nan's  standards they where horrendously poor only eating what they could grow and what they could kill.  During the war for…

Help, I Got Lost In A Maze.

Its been so cold the last few days, all I wanted to do stay indoors and keep warm, but No I decided with my loved one to go out for the day, "Lets go to a Maze" I said "What the F......." was the reply "Why?" was the next reply.  I found a stately home I wanted to go and see I love seeing them, makes me feel like I am in Downton Abbey, another time, another world.
So we packed up the car put on two jumpers my big coat hat scarf and gloves, and off we went. It was freezing cold, what the hell were thinking, I have been to one maze before but but it was little and yes, you could see over the top what is the point of that, but this one there is no way you could see over the top, I was actually nervous and a excited, then I thought what if we can't get out, how embarrassing, would that be. We went around the gardens first which were stunning even on a cold January day.  But the hour had finally come the dreaded maze, with fear and treperdation we st…

Youtube's Lucy Wyndham-Read, My New Online Personal Trainer.

I have started a new fitness routine, I have always loved keeping fit since my late twenty's till today, it's funny that when I was at school I hated sports or games as we call it here in the UK, I was always the last or second to last in a race and was never picked for any team I did however excel at Volley Ball (no idea why) and I was good at dance, but of course my school abandoned the volley ball team. at age thirteen, but I did do dance lessons from the age of seven till sixteen, I had  dreams of being a dancer on Top of the Pops, (yeah right).
From about the age of 27 I started to workout to keep fit DVD's and they worked they really did, and I actually enjoyed it, I became pretty fit and had a nice little figure too,  but alas time has gone on and the years have gone by and by the time I was 35 I started to realize I couldn't do the DVD's that I was doing a few years back and was struggling to do any more that 20 mins each time, and eventually  I started …

A TRUE STORY.

Last Summer 2018, the long hot Summer that we had here in the UK and all over the world, I had a blind in my Bathroom that was beautifully old and needed replacing desperately, but life gets in the way and I never kept getting around to do it, you know what I mean my lovely readers, you look at your old friend, and think yep you had it.  One day after one hot boiling day I went to close the window and my hand went right through it. and a big rip appeared,  I think the heat and time had made the blind fragile and vulnerable. It looked awful so I got a a big pair of scissors and cut across it embarrassed by the bathroom situation, lets say I can't cut very straight I scanned it from afar and thought, "No you have got to go".
That's when I found a fantastic company that Makes made to measure blinds, they are called Make My Blinds.  They have a great and easy to navigate website, that make your blinds exactly to …
