I have been asked to review a brand new book as part of a promotional book tour that takes place this month. The book that has been a privilege to review, the name of the book is Prescriptions from Dr Love, 10 ways to transform dis-ease to ease. by Dr Suzy Al Mushcab.
The book is a bout a women called Suzy who goes to see a therapist called Dr Love, about her problems and how her life is. Suzy seems stuck in her life and through her consultations with the afore mentioned Dr Love she soon works out that stress along with her childhood, and her relationships with her family members have made her the way she is as a grown up, she also realises that stress has affected her physically which has accumulated in her having stress related illnesses. . Dr Love gives her treatments in the way of little prescriptions, which appear all the way throughout the book , prescriptions of advice that Suzy needs to work on, a sort of homework for the mind. I could relate to Suzy personally Suzy's family are Lebanese mine are Italian, when she mentions in the book, that she is highly strung and suffers from Hormonal Migraine and bowel problems and that my day's are a roller coaster of emotions just like Suzy's, and that the stress of being brought up that way takes it's toll on you as an adult women. I soon realised that Suzy is me, and most modern women. The Prescriptions throughout the book are helpful to the reader, and I have taken a few points on board myself, for example, always eat sitting down, eat fresh cooked food, and always take a few minutes after the meal, go for a short walk and I have started Meditating each day.
I found the book informative, easy to read and I loved the words of advise in the form of prescriptions from Dr Love which I identified with in a strong way. I became immersed in Suzy and her personal journey, and before I knew it I had finished the book.
