The Benefits Of Eating Porridge.

This is not a sponsored  post.

Since I was young I have eaten Porridge for breakfast, coming from an Italian household  it was a very odd thing to do, my Father would never touch it, but my Mother used to love it and used to make us hot bowl of it before we went to school, especially during the Winter months, we  would happily skip along  to school and endure the cold British Winter's.   As I got into my late teens it was no longer cool to eat it, in fact I don't think I ate breakfast for years, as I got older and my body was shouting feed me first thing in the morning I started to realise the value of nutrition, and started eating my childhood bowl of porridge again.
First thing in the morning before the day has officially begun I go and grab a bowl and some skimmed milk my oats and blast them in the microwave with a little touch of sugar and I am set up for the day.   Gone are the days when I used to use a saucepan and stirred and stirred, I now blast mine in the microwave, I can tell if I don't have my porridge fix, I feel so hungry by midday. Go on do yourself a favour and try a bowl it's so quick and easy and you won't look back.

Here is a list of why porridge is so good for you.

High in fibre

Lowers  cholesterol

Lowers blood sugar

Reduces constipation

Protection against skin irritation

Lowers blood pressure

Boost bone mineral density

Helps prevent heart disease and some cancers.

Tips for your porridge oats.

Fruit is so good, I like banana's but any fruit is good.

Try putting a little syrup or honey in your bowl

You can also add  them in your smoothies

Or if you have problem skin, add them to your bath water for smooth skin.

I absolutely love porridge, especially in the Winter and it's so good after a workout when you're feeling super hungry. I usually use the little instant packets at work that you add milk to and microwave, there's a cinnamon flavoured one that I love at the moment. It's great to know that there's so many benefits to eating porridge because I love it! Especially with lots of fruit added to keep me full for ages.

Hi! I’m Hannah and I blog about saving money and living frugally over at https://frugalbridetobe.wordpress.com I am currently saving up for our house and wedding so every penny that I can save helps!

Beauty products are one of those things that most of us will use on a daily basis, be it shampoo, toothpaste, makeup or skin care. None of these are exactly cheap and some of them really can set you back a small fortune!
