Is Wolf Whistling Sexual Harassment?

The subject of wolf whistling can be a tricky one to discuss, is it harmless fun or is it a mild form of sexual harassment,  do you find it offensive? Are you being to sensitive? |Do you enjoy the attention? Or when you hear that little noise does it fill you with horror?

Myself personally I think it's a mild form of sexual harassment, I want to tell you all a true story, something that happened to me when I was 15. In the last four months of my secondary school life, I used to walk to school, about a 20 minute walk, the same route I took for five years, in all weathers.  in the spring time, houses were being built at the end of my road, and builders were working hard, when one day walking home from school, one of the builders wolf whistled at me, I went bright red and put my head down and ignored it. the next day in the morning the same thing happened and I did the same thing head down and embarrassed   this went on for three weeks in the morning to school and when home tim…

Four Days In Florence.

Hi I have just returned from a  lovely trip  to Florence in Italy,   we booked it a couple of weeks ago, I never thought we would get flights, but we did and off we went, I surprised myself really, when I book a trip it's usually months in advance and I have to plan every detail I don't know what your like my dear readers, I think it's a confidence thing,  this is the first time I have let someone else plan a trip and I just went with the flow, not like me at all. I came to the conclusion of, why am I worrying life is to short just go with it. And I did.

Ciao Italia

We landed 9.00 am,  after a rather quite flight from Manchester Airport, weather was 17 degrees and a mixture of cloudy and sun.  Very different from the cool rainy UK, we had just left.  Hotel was a small boutique type I did want to say which one it was, but my partner has asked me not to name names, for privacy. reasons and I respect that. One day I will get him on the blog, you will see.       But it was…

Dear Meghan A Letter To A Duchess.

Dedicated to  Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Dear Meghan,

I hope you are well, and that all is well with your pregnancy, I hope you are not stressed and are resting in the last few days of this magical time, and your Husband is looking after you, I am sure he will he is very protective of his new family.
I hope you have not been reading all the horrible comments from the trolls, that I have been reading including the awful and ridiculous one's  that has been on your very own Instagram account in the last few days, it just makes me realise  that in reading them, you can tell how much people believe what they read in online newspapers and magazine's  and over social media how ill informed they all are and how all these made up stories are ridiculous so obviously untrue it's laughable, for example your post the other day on your Instagram account where you unfollowed  everyone, if they had bothered reading it they would ha…

Sponsored  Post.     Make My Blinds.Co.UK

A TRUE STORY.

Last Summer 2018, the long hot Summer that we had here in the UK and all over the world, I had a blind in my Bathroom that was beautifully old and needed replacing desperately, but life gets in the way and I never kept getting around to do it, you know what I mean my lovely readers, you look at your old friend, and think yep you had it.  One day after one hot boiling day I went to close the window and my hand went right through it. and a big rip appeared,  I think the heat and time had made the blind fragile and vulnerable. It looked awful so I got a a big pair of scissors and cut across it embarrassed by the bathroom situation, lets say I can't cut very straight I scanned it from afar and thought, "No you have got to go".
That's when I found a fantastic company that Makes made to measure blinds, they are called Make My Blinds.  They have a great and easy to navigate website, that make your blinds exactly to …

Climate Change Tips, What You Can Do To Help.

With all the talk about climate change, and all the protests in London at the moment, I wanted to do a little research about it, of course I have heard of climate change, since the late eighties, when I first heard of the term The Ozone Layer, we did learn a little about it, but to be truthful it never really went any further than that.  But lately with all the talk around I have been thinking very carefully about this planet we have borrowed to live on.
I have done a lot of reading on the subject  in the last week and have been surprised how many things I can do to help climate change I  have decided to adopt some if not all of them for myself, some I already have done without realising that I had.  Can you imagine if all of us do our bit for the planet we might be able to save so much of it for future generations. Here are my tips, can you help?

1,  Start walking more, it's good for your mind and your body, I already do  this I walk everywhere I can.

2, Don't drink bott…

Just thought I would give you all a quick life update, I haven't done one for a while on the blog, I really wanted to put my own mind in order, while updating the blog a little bit more on a personal note.
Apart from life being life, busy with work and family, far too busy with work and family the last few months  have flown by,  I have been working so hard on the blog and when I started my little online thoughts section, I never thought is would grow the way it has, and the blogging community especially on Twitter are diamonds they have been so friendly and supportive, I decided to share other peoples posts, to help us all out, we need to get the blogs out there, bloggers work so hard on their  own content  I feel like it would be a shame not to share them around for everyone to …

Do You Remember?

This post is dedicated to my family, without them I would be lost, I love you all very much. Mimi 💋
My new post,  Do You Remember?   has a mixture of fun and nostalgia, this time  I think I will have a break from the deep and meaningful posts for a few days and write something a little more happier for Spring,  I do like the deep posts, don't get me wrong but I just thought I would lighten up the load a bit so to speak. so here is a little insight of my crazy Childhood.
I grew up in North Wales, my family are Italian an I am the  third out of four mad hatter Children, the one with Dungarees and dark haired plaits tied with Orange cat bobbles on the end wanting to be Elly May  Clampit from the Beverly Hillbillies, those of you who don't know that show google it, it's fantastic.

My childhood home was on a corner and everyone's child was usually at my house, no idea why maybe it was the Tip Top ice lollies my big Sister used to magic up, when really my Dad bought t…

The Secret Blogger

Put your hands up who's a secret blogger,  me me me.  In a room full of people I would be the first to stand up, in a queue I would be well and truly at the front.  I am the Ultimate secret blogger I confess, anyone else come on own up.
On a serious note when, I started my blogging journey I really wanted something to do on a creative level if  20 or so people read my posts I would have been really happy, I never realised  that I would get this far, I have learnt so much in such a short space of time. I started my blog on July 17th 2018, only one person knew about it, my Brother I needed him for the technical bit, I will give him a shout out because he does read the blog don't you know, it took me about three weeks to tell my Sister, and one of my Nieces and my older Brother but no one else knows,   I feel quite like it's some kind of big hush hush secret, don't get me wrong I am proud of my little corner of the internet, I am just not ready to share it with …

Meghan Markle Bullied Princess?

I wanted to write this post for a while, but wasn't sure if it is something people wanted to read about or weather I was in the right to write about it. But while I was eating my porridge this morning I was watching Piers Morgan on GMTV, those of you unfamiliar with this programme, it's a Breakfast television programme here in the UK and there was Piers Morgan  who is one of the presenters  yet again having another go at the Duchess of Sussex. The man is obsessed he never passes up an opportunity to have a go at her.  The story goes he once had a drink with her the very night she first met Prince Harry at Soho House in London, today's offering from the man is that he thinks she is a social climber who ghosted him  right after she met her future Husband, it was probably Harry who said Piers Morgan has got a big mouth don't be friends with him, I am sure Piers fancied her and his nose has been put out of joint, he keeps going on about her.
    This week in one particu…

Perfection Is Not Required

Perfection, what is it? what's is perfect to one person is not to another. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Why do we strive so hard to be perfect, I always used to think it was a women's disease, but I think that men are starting to feel the same way, how can anyone be perfect! Why  can't we  strive to do our best but perfection comes at a higher price, there are those that spend their cold hard cash on surgeries to acquire it, but do they succeed, you have to feel it, but as human being's we always want more and more it will never be enough why are we like that why can't we be happy with what we have, why do we want more?
When I grew up we had magazines, with images that we tried so badly to emulate, with our 50 pence lipsticks from the indoor market a make that no one had ever heard of. Now with the internet and social media platforms, and the selfie culture, we are so more conscious of what we look like. We look at the airbrushed image's and think…

Ten Best Blogging Tips

When I started my blog in July 2018, I never realised how much work being a blogger actually was, looking back I was so naive, I have read other blogs over the years and thought, that's easy  I can do that, but I was wrong it takes hours of work, don't get me wrong I love it, it has ups and downs but the sense of satisfaction every time I work and publish any blog post is tremendous. My blog is my online baby and I have to nurture and make it grow. So I have compiled ten top tips  to help  the blogger from my point of view.

1,First when you write a post make sure it is your own original work, you can get inspiration from other's  but never copy anyone else work, a big no no.

2,  Watch out for SEO keywords, you will need to include them in your title and in the body of your work, I am not an expert at SEO, but I just include popular words, but don't compromise your creativity for SEO.

3,  Make sure your blog page is attractive to reader's, a nice looking font good Ph…

International Women's Day. Who Is Your Inspirational Women.

This is Anna, my Grandmother, and I have chosen her as my Inspirational women for International Women's day 2019.    Anna, my Grandmother was born in April 1907 on the East Coast of Italy, in another time, and another place, long before I was even thought of.  I have chosen my Grandmother today  because she was a strong confident women who had a hard life with no money no decent home and sometimes no shoes on her feet as she used to tell me.  My Grandmother got married at 18 in Pink and had four daughter's the youngest of whom was my own Mother.  My Grandfather was a farmer/soldier and when the second world war broke out my Grandfather was in the war, my Nan as I always called her, was on her own in war torn Italy with four daughter ages ranging from 13 downwards to 6 years old,  if we think of poverty in our towns and cities today according to my Nan's  standards they where horrendously poor only eating what they could grow and what they could kill.  During the war for…

World Book Day 7th March, The Ultimate Quark Guide & Cook Book.

By The Queen of Quark

For world book day on March the 7th this week and I have been given this book to review by Kerstin and Linda the Human alter ego behind The queen of quark, It's a Hard back copy with 191 pages, of tips and delicious recipes of Quark, To be honest I had never really heard of Quark that much before, I never thought that Quark could be so versatile, I just thought it was like a cottage cheese type product but I realise that it is extreme low in fat and very good for you, you can make the most scrummy cheese cakes and even use it in savoury recipes, and add to  your morning smoothie.           Kerstain and Linda have cleverly compiled a marvellous collection of tips and recipes  for us mere mortals to try out.  The book starts with a wonderful explanation on the origins and history of Quark,  it also gives you a very helpful list of super-foods  from A to Z, some of which I never released made the list, that taught me.  The…

February Record Warm Weather, And Ice Cream On The Beach.

Hi all hope you are all doing really well, The weather here has been fantastic,  temperature's in North Wales were I live, has been 20 degrees, 20 degrees in February wow, listening to the news they are record temperatures for the UK,  it feels like spring and the skies are Blue without a cloud in sight and the flowers are fully blooming, the past few days people are just so much happier with smiles on their faces amazing what a little bit of warm sunshine can achieve.
I have been mainly outside the past few days planning how to upgrade my Winter garden, standing there with my hands on my hips making silent plans in my head, but maybe I will hold off slightly I have a funny feeling the UK will pay for the lovely weather, some snow storm or Beast from the east 2.  It's been so nice to take my power walks without freezing my arse off or getting soaked in the rain.

Myself  and my sister took a good long walk with her beloved and handsome dog Barney it was his Birthday and…

My Naughty Neighbour.

This post is auto fictive to protect identities.

November 2015, moving in day, the day was dark and raining, I drew back my curtains in my bedroom to find a moving truck with two men in blue overalls, busy in their work back and too from the truck to the house,  carrying boxes of stuff and shiny wooden furniture the repetitiveness made me bilious.   "Oh new neighbours", I shouted wondering and thinking of the mysterious human beings who would be gracing the house.  Very very quickly I would find out exactly who they were.        In the new year I had a lovely invitation to a house warming but that night I had another engagement so I declined.   You know dear readers when someone just gives you the chills when you see them but you don't know why, that's exactly how I felt each and every time I encountered the particular person of who I am writing about, I couldn't tell you why I just was on my guard, I often think Women have a radar of sorts and can spot a creep v…

The Benefits Of Eating Porridge.

This is not a sponsored  post.

Since I was young I have eaten Porridge for breakfast, coming from an Italian household  it was a very odd thing to do, my Father would never touch it, but my Mother used to love it and used to make us hot bowl of it before we went to school, especially during the Winter months, we  would happily skip along  to school and endure the cold British Winter's.   As I got into my late teens it was no longer cool to eat it, in fact I don't think I ate breakfast for years, as I got older and my body was shouting feed me first thing in the morning I started to realise the value of nutrition, and started eating my childhood bowl of porridge again.
First thing in the morning before the day has officially begun I go and grab a bowl and some skimmed milk my oats and blast them in the microwave with a little touch of sugar and I am set up for the day.   Gone are the days when I used to use a saucepan and stirred and stirred, I now blast min…

Storm Erick's destruction, and lunch at Frankie and Bennys

Hi all, a brand new week is here, I had a very stressful last week, all because of someone else's incompetence and I actually had a fight with a stranger who decided to be abusive with my 83 year old Mother I had never been so disgusted in my life, I hate losing my temper and it left me feeling lightheaded and I  couldn't sleep, but I had to protected her. The next day Storm Erik began over the UK and the noise of the 80 mph win gusts and the torrential rain were horrendous, I didn't sleep all night, the next morning I awoke to my dust bins all over the place rubbish scattered all over the floor  and my shed roof lying in big bits on my garden patio. Brilliant I thought even the fucking weather hates me this week, as I was drinking a hot cup of tea my pervert neighbour (more about him another time) came running up to my bay window shouting "your shed roof is down, your shed roof is down", "I know" I replied.

I so needed cheering up I felt so stresse…

Are You Your Star Sign?

I have loved Astrology ever since I was a child my Mother and older Sister was obsessed  with their  Horoscope's reading them in the magazines, wondering if they will come true, I went a little further and studied it, buying books on the subject and and learning about moon signs and rising signs.  So I decided  to write a post entitled are you your star sign.

My star sign is Leo,  The lusty lion, no not really that's my little joke there sounds good though, I thought so anyway.  Leos are supposed to be warm, generous and loving  fun with an air of royalty about them, yep that's me he he he. Looks wise Leo's are supposed to have a  big Maine of  hair, large eyes and beautiful face, Yes yes yes to all three, you see what I am doing here readers.😁 Worst negative trait is being bossy, No not me at all.
There are three types of Leo's  the bossy know it all show off, the quiet    Leo and the half in half, I am definitely the half in half.  Leo's in love li…
