Christmas Conversations and Coffee

I had the day off today and decided to brave the city, to do some extra Christmas shopping, I asked my friend if she wanted to come with me, she jumped at the chance, I didn't want to leave it too late into December and I wanted to avoid the crowds as well, I couldn't, it was so crowded with Christmas shoppers, it's like the whole world has gone mad, or Christmas Zombie's as I joked with my friend, I was tired after last night, I, dear readers went baby sitting for my Sister who went to a work's Christmas party with her Husband tis the season don't you know, so I came back a bit late and had to be up early this morning, so I have been yawning most of the day,  so first thing  I did with my good friend is stop by the nearest  coffee shop as soon as we got into the city and stuffed our faces with a full English and had two delicious  coffee's  it was yummy but I was stuffed and ended up waddling around the shops like ducks, quack.

I did quite well in the shops and got the last few presents I have done them all I think, Yay God I am so organised this time around, I'm very proud of my self thinking I bet I have forgotten someone, I also bought two new sets of |Christmas lights because half of mine didn't work last weekend when I put the decorations up, see my earlier post it's all in there Earlier post my house now looks like London Palladium, but it's so twinkly and pretty, I love it.
I got home late afternoon and I wrote some Christmas cards, and realised that I forgot the stamps, I posted some to the neighbours, I found about about five stamps in a kitchen drawer and went to the post box to post a few of the cards the rest will have to wait a few days till I get back to the shops but the Christmas countdown is well on the way. How is your countdown going?

International Women's Day. Who Is Your Inspirational Women.

This is Anna, my Grandmother, and I have chosen her as my Inspirational women for International Women's day 2019.    Anna, my Grandmother was born in April 1907 on the East Coast of Italy, in another time, and another place, long before I was even thought of.  I have chosen my Grandmother today  because she was a strong confident women who had a hard life with no money no decent home and sometimes no shoes on her feet as she used to tell me.  My Grandmother got married at 18 in Pink and had four daughter's the youngest of whom was my own Mother.  My Grandfather was a farmer/soldier and when the second world war broke out my Grandfather was in the war, my Nan as I always called her, was on her own in war torn Italy with four daughter ages ranging from 13 downwards to 6 years old,  if we think of poverty in our towns and cities today according to my Nan's  standards they where horrendously poor only eating what they could grow and what they could kill.  During the war for…

Youtube's Lucy Wyndham-Read, My New Online Personal Trainer.

I have started a new fitness routine, I have always loved keeping fit since my late twenty's till today, it's funny that when I was at school I hated sports or games as we call it here in the UK, I was always the last or second to last in a race and was never picked for any team I did however excel at Volley Ball (no idea why) and I was good at dance, but of course my school abandoned the volley ball team. at age thirteen, but I did do dance lessons from the age of seven till sixteen, I had  dreams of being a dancer on Top of the Pops, (yeah right).
From about the age of 27 I started to workout to keep fit DVD's and they worked they really did, and I actually enjoyed it, I became pretty fit and had a nice little figure too,  but alas time has gone on and the years have gone by and by the time I was 35 I started to realize I couldn't do the DVD's that I was doing a few years back and was struggling to do any more that 20 mins each time, and eventually  I started …

Why I Hate Love Island.

I know this will not be  popular  with a lot of the  British public, but I hate ITV1's  Love Island, there I have said it. Am I the only one?  I feel on a daily basis the only one.   Last Summer this show, about lovely young men and women on an holiday island  was on and all my  female friends and some of my  family were watching it, they were fascinated, next to the photocopier they were fascinated, going out for drinks with my girlfriends all I could hear was he fancies her she snogged him, so I felt like an absolute freak when I suddenly shouted to out "I have never seen it", all heads turned and looked at me in amazement, eyes wide and mouths open, one or two heads shaking in amazement, "what" one particular friend   cried out "never?".  They were horrified I felt like I wanted the ground to swallow me up whole.
So I must confess that night I went home put on Youtube typed in Love Island and there were lots of lots of older clips I saw one tha…

Llangollen International Festival

Sponsored  Post with links.

Hi all, I have some very exciting news to tell you all, I have been asked to write a pre-review of a fantastic blogging opportunity. I was so excited when I was chosen. I have always wanted to go to this ever since I was little and have never been.

FAMILY FRIENDLY INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL FOR ALL.  It is a weeks long family friendly celebration which is full of music and dance and culture at the Llangollen Eisteddfod, I was born and have  grown up in North Wales and the Eisteddfod has been a huge part of my life, I have always known that the  people of the area as a child look forward to the festival every year, and it is part of Welsh culture and beyond. The very first festival was in June 1947 listed as a celebration of peace and harmony, and they are right, the whole festival is about music dance  and culture, there will be over 5,000 international performances from all over the world to entertain visitors to the beautiful and serene town of Llangollen, No…
